Bible Study

"Transforming Bible Study, ancient and modern methods for individuals and small groups"  This booklet by the Rev. Greg Jones, the Rector of St. Michael's, Raleigh, was written to help people grow in faith by engaging with Scripture. This resource draws upon methods and ideas from ancient and modern sources, from Midrash to the Sudan. The hope is that it can be a foundation for small group Bible study. Available by contacting Greg Jones.  $3.50 per copy or $30.00 for a packet for 10.

"Welcome to the Bible" from Church Publishing, Inc., by Vicki K., Black & Peter W. Wenner, 122 pages, paperback, c. 2007, $12.95.

[Source: Church Publishing, Inc.]  New Episcopalians may be nervous about opening the Bible; others simply don't know how to begin. An often-overlooked gift of the Episcopal Church is that the texts and doctrines of the Bible are embedded in its prayers, liturgies, and creeds. Making that knowledge explicit and placing it in context can open the way for further and more in-depth study.
