Education for Ministry
ATTENTION: EfM Mentors -- We are now accepting registrations for our Fall mentor training on September 10 - 12, 2009, at St. Francis Springs Prayer Center.

As a Mentor, would you like to network with other Mentors for resources and ideas?  So would we!  E-mail me to let us know what you have to share, or what you would like to find.

 Try the links below:

http://www.theophilus-seeker.com --   This is the web-site for the Diocese of Oregon, and an excellent resource, with many great links.

http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/features/sacred/homepage.html -- Helping understand the shared traditions among the world's major religious traditions is a tall order for a website, but this lovely online gallery from the British Library does the job quite admirably.

How about an EfM Glossary?  Here is one from Ann
Scully, former Diocesan Coordinator for EfM in Alaska.

Thanks to Ann for her work.  If you see an editing error, tell me via e-mail!

Short Courses in Adult Christian Education

Exploring a theology of food:  The theme of this DVD has to do with how food intersects with our faith lives. Food might seem like a strange (even boring?) topic for church study. We know that God calls us to worship, to pray, and to engage in acts of charity toward the poor. But does God really care if we eat pasta or beef for dinner?

Toward a missionary diocese: The theme of this DVD has to do with the saying that we have heard in the Diocese of North Carolina for some years: “A missionary diocese… living God’s dream by making disciples and making a difference.” As time passes such phrases sometimes merely become familiar words that have lost their power. And yet, there is deep meaning to this vision, and these DVDs are designed to help us reflect afresh about “living God’s dream.” What do these words mean to us? To our congregations? What do we need to do to make this vision a reality?
